Can you believe it’s already time to begin back-to-school prep? It almost seems as though summer fun starts winding down as soon as it comes. But, this year, I think we should make back-to-school prep just as much part of the summer festivities as anything else. So, today I’ve put together a list of DIY Back to School Teacher Gifts to launch us back into the school spirit. Enjoy!

DIY Back-to-School Teacher Gifts

Welcome to Class Gift Bags for Students

A back ot school welcome bag for students. School supplies like pencils, markers and glue sticks packed in brown paper bags.

Aren’t these the cutest things ever? Each bag has a perfect smattering of a few essential supplies for each student and it doubles as a sweet “Welcome to Class” gift to bring a bit of excitement for the new year of learning.

DIY Sunflower & Pencil Bouquet
A vase lined with classic Number 2 pencils, and filled with sunflowers. The perfect back to school gift for a teacher!

There is something about the smell of freshly sharpened yellow No. 2 pencils. Pair that with some lovely sunflowers and BAM- you have a creative way to brighten the heart and classroom for your kiddo’s new teacher. This is my personal favorite or these DIY back to school teacher gifts because I totally could work a paper flower angle here!

Sharpie Tumbler for Teachers
A plastic reusable tumbler decorated with polka dots and filled with Sharpie markers.

Two things: colorful Sharpies AND a stylish cup to stay hydrated. If you’re anything like me then you have a stockpile of travel mugs, tumblers, water bottles, etc- for any occasion. I imagine that a professional and personal gift (all in one) would be a favorite for anyone responsible for 20-30 children for the next several months.

Hand Sanitizer Student Gift
These

If you have spent more than 30 seconds around a classroom, you are well aware of the amount of… exposure… kids can bring to each other. These adorable student gifts also double as a practical tool to help keep the classroom a bit more germ-free.

We love baking in my home. A homemade (or store-bought) batch of cookies with a sweet note packaged in a mason jar is a sweet way to thank a teacher for their dedication and commitment to your child in their next year of learning. It’s also quite yummy, which is an additional win!

Easy Printable Chapstick Gift for Teachers
This small printable card is hand decorated with a cute little bee drawing and conveniently holds a tube of chapstick.

If you are in a time crunch and need a quick and practical gift for a teacher, this is a clever and inexpensive way to show your thoughtfulness towards the teachers in your kiddo’s life!

Time-Saving Coffee Mug Printable for Teachers
A reusable Starbucks coffee mug with a cute gift tag attached that reads

Another time-saving gift is this printable card that pairs with a coffee mug. Nothing starts the day better than a good ol’ cup of joe. It starts things off on a positive note and, honestly, is patience in a mug. Trust me, your teacher will thank you!

Teacher Survival Kit
This teacher survuval kit comes with everything a teacher needs to make it through the start of a school year - coffee, treats, and supplies all packed into a galvanized steel bucket.

This gift is an all-in-one goodie platter! Snacks, cups, first aid supplies, and even the bucket is useful for the teacher’s desk. Gift baskets are popular for many occasions and, in my opinion, who needs more supplies than a teacher prepping to make this your child’s best school year yet!

Smarties for Students
A small packet of Smarties candies are a fun back to school gift for students.

Not only are these delicious treats but a positive affirmation to gift to classrooms and students. So many students thrive off of hearing reminders that they have everything they need to succeed. What a tasty way to be reminded!

Snapple Teachers Gift
A bottle of Snapple with a cute back-to-school gift tag attached is a sweet gift for students or teachers at the start of a new year.

Raise your hand if you love a good Snapple! *hands raise all across the classroom*
This clever gift will bring a touch of humor and tastiness (and is super easy to put together)

DIY Apple Mason Jar filled with Candy
These mini mason jars are painted to look like apples, and filled with M&M candies - a cute and easy DIY back to school gift for teachers!

If you are a crafter at heart, then you will love painting these precious mason jars with chalk paint and filling them with delicious goodies is a great themed gift and a bit of decor for the classroom.

As you can see, we are looking forward to every bit of what’s ahead for our new school year- even though it means summer is coming to an end.
