DIY Christmas Cards with Free Card SVG Cut Files

Making cards at Christmas is a more personal and fun alternative to store-bought cards. There are loads of free Christmas card templates out there and today I am sharing several with you!

Today I am sharing with you four FREE Christmas card templates and teaching you how to use deco foil and Cricut party foil to make them look as beautiful as the expensive Hallmark cards! Your recipients will be shocked that these cards are handmade with the shimmer and shine the deco foil gives them.

DIY Christmas Card Supply List

Directions for Foil Christmas Card Template Assembly (scroll down for video)

  1. Print your card via the FREE printable PDF files. Alternatively, upload the SVG or PNG image file to Cricut and perform the Print Then Cut method.
  2. Heat up your laminator machine.
  3. Cut your card either with a straight cutter or your Cricut machine.
  4. Cut your deco foil to size to cover the printed image
  5. Place the deco foil over the printed image area and while holding the foil in place with your fingers, run the deco foil/card together through the laminator.
  6. Peel your decor foil off to reveal the shimmery magic!
  7. If you wish to add additional colors, cut out other shapes in Cricut party foil and glue them onto the card’s front.
  8. Enjoy your stunning DIY Christmas cards!

Learn to make your own Christmas cards with these free templates. These DIY cards include deco foil and can be used with your Cricut machine.

Instructions

    1. Print your card.
    2. Heat up your laminator machine.
    3. Cut your card either with a straight cutter or your Cricut machine.
    4. Cut your deco foil to size to cover the printed image.
    5. Place the deco foil over the printed image area and while holding the foil in place with your fingers, run the deco foil/card together through the laminator.
    6. Peel your decor foil off to reveal the shimmery magic!
    7. If you wish to add additional colors, cut out other shapes in Cricut party foil and glue them onto the card's front.

  1. What size are these cards designed to be when finished? I downloaded the svg of the bulbs with Merry Christmas and the bulbs and string seem to almost be to big for the placement or it seems off. Part of the design would end up being on the back of the card. Unless I’m doing something wrong/. Thanks

    1. Hi! The cards are designed for you to scale them to any desired size. I made mine as 5 x 7-inch cards.
