Job Title: SVG Graphic Designer + Creative Collaborator

Remote | Freelance (estimated 10 hours/week – with room to grow)

About Abbi Kirsten Collections:

Abbi Kirsten Collections is a leading resource for digital crafting templates and tutorials that empower creative minds to make something meaningful—whether for fun, mindfulness, or life’s big celebrations. With a thriving audience and a growing membership program (A-Star Crafters), we serve thousands of crafters with high-quality SVGs, tutorials, and creative tools that prioritize joy, confidence, and originality.

The Role:

We’re looking for a creative powerhouse and SVG design expert to become Abbi’s “creative body double”—someone who can not only design beautiful, functional SVG files but also help curate our membership content experience behind the scenes.

This role goes beyond file creation; you’ll help research trends, ideate project collections, test cut files, and support the rollout of new content batches that align with our evolving A-Star content calendar.

If you have strengths has a teacher, event planner, influencer, or even photographer, you will likely have natural skillsets that fit for this roll.

This position is perfect for someone who’s equal parts designer, thinker, and collaborator—someone who can move fast, iterate quickly, and add real value to our community through thoughtful, high-quality digital designs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Research & Trendspotting: Stay on top of crafting and creative trends, especially seasonal and occasion-based projects, and pitch ideas for monthly project or design collections.
  • Design & Development: Engineer the templates, SVG files and design kits aligned with our brand’s aesthetic and technical standards.
  • Content Collaboration: Work closely with Abbi to map out project collections in batches, based on our member data and content calendar. You’ll help shape cornerstone content that gets dropped monthly inside our membership.
  • Testing & Quality Control: Test your own SVGs with cutting machines for usability and accuracy (or manage someone else to do so with your oversight).
  • Creative Integrity: Infuse every project with originality and intention—this isn’t about copy/pasting Pinterest trends. It’s about adding a unique spin and thoughtful execution.
  • Content Asset Support (Bonus): If you have photography or video skills, there’s opportunity to contribute to showcasing finished projects for social media, content libraries, or even mini tutorials.

You + Us = Magic If You Check These Boxes:

  • Are exceptionally organized and responsive—deadlines and updates don’t scare you
  • Move fast and adapt easily to shifting project needs
  • Obsess over detail and polish (especially file prep and usability)
  • Are receptive to feedback and eager to iterate collaboratively
  • Can maintain a consistent, cohesive aesthetic across projects
  • Communicate clearly and promptly—no radio silence
  • Think creatively and bring fresh takes on trends (not just replicate what’s out there)
  • Are self-led, but love brainstorming and co-creating
  • See crafting as more than just projects—it’s a joyful, wellness-driven outlet
  • Understand the full lifecycle of an SVG tutorial—from idea to cut to publish
  • Keep your project files and digital workspaces organized and easy to navigate

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience designing original SVGs or craft-friendly digital files
  • Proficient in vector-based design software (Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, or similar)
  • Familiar with Cricut or other cutting machine design workflows
  • Strong research skills and ability to explore new techniques independently
  • Portfolio that reflects trend-forward, original design work
  • Experience working remotely and managing your own schedule

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience managing or mentoring junior designers or freelancers
  • Skills in photography or videography for crafting projects
  • Familiarity with online course or content creation platforms
  • Experience with font design and creation

What You Can Expect:

  • A deeply collaborative and creative relationship with Abbi
  • Flexible hours and remote work
  • The chance to shape the look, feel, and experience of a growing membership platform
  • Input on naming, branding, and monthly content themes.

How to Apply:

To be considered, please send your resume and a portfolio of your original SVG or crafting-related work to [email protected]; with the word “Confetti” somewhere in the subject line. In your email, include a 2-minute video to briefly tell us why you’d be a great fit for this role—and include a note about a trend you’re excited about in the crafting world right now. We will not review any videos over 2 minutes.

Pay:

  • This is a contract/freelance role with flexible hours, paid at $50–$100 per hour, depending on experience and skill set.
