Creating ornaments from arabesque tiles has become a trendy new craft this year! I decided to create two methods of transforming tiles into beautiful ornaments for your tree or gifts to loved ones. Today I will teach you how to make arabesque tile Christmas ornaments with Cricut in two different ways – Print Then Cut and iron-on vinyl!
In addition to this new Christmas ornament tutorial, I am giving you well over a dozen FREE Christmas SVG cut files to use on your ornaments!
This project is certainly beginner-friendly! If you are looking for even more ornament projects then be sure to check out my Glitter Ornament Craft here – trending at #1 on Youtube this year! Thanks, everyone!

Print Then Cut Tile Ornaments
I used printable vinyl to make my Print Then Cut ornaments come to life. I love this because it is so easy to make a bunch really fast. If you are unfamiliar with the Print Then Cut process make sure to read this in-depth post here that can help as well as explain how Print Then Cut is different from a layered design.
Iron-On Vinyl For Tile Ornaments
My second favorite way to add designs to arabesque tile ornaments is with iron-on vinyl. This is super easy with an Easypress mini. I prefer to use foil or glitter HTV because it looks extra Christmasy! You can absolutely use regular permanent vinyl too.

I have many lovely tile ornament designs for free above but I want to show you how easy it is to create your own so you can customize any ornament for yourself!
To create a simple text on the ornament, you will still want to download the arabesque ornament silhouette SVG above as a guide to styling your font to fit within your tile’s parameters. Use the fonts in Design Space or import your own and create any word/phrase of your choice.
Creating Print Then Cut Designs
The process of adding a pattern for printable vinyl is equally as easy by using the Pattern Upload option in Design Space. Watch my bonus video here on designing arabesque ornament images in Cricut Design Space and how to add a pattern to the tile template!
