How To Use Vinyl and HTV on Wood Story

Today I am covering everything you need to know about using vinyl on wood, including when and how you should seal your signs for outdoor display.

Learning to make custom wood signs with Cricut is a must-have skill because you can create many different concepts and themes for all occasions.

Supplies

– Cutting machine  – Standard grip-cutting mat – HTV iron-on vinyl – Weeding tool – Heat-safe surface – EasyPress – Uncoated butcher paper or Teflon heat sheet

Wipe down your unfinished blank wood sign with a simple damp cloth or paper towel to remove any debris.

Instructions

Choose your paint. And, of course, you will need a wood blank. Place your sign on some scrap paper, or use a silicone mat to protect your working surface. Apply long, even strokes of paint.

Seal Your Painted Wood Sign. After your painted wood blank has cured for 24 hours, coat the paint with a clear sealer.

Once you decide on a design for your sign, create a new project in Cricut Design Space and upload the SVG files.
