Meet Abbi

Hi ya’ll, I’m Abbi, creator and owner behind Abbi Kirsten Collections!
I’m a blogger, author, Cricut lover, and craft designer.
It doesn’t stop there. I’m a wife, mama, daughter, sister, entrepreneur, and child of God. I started my small shop on Etsy in 2014, still known as Catching Colorflies, because I realized I needed to find myself outside of Motherhood and Wifehood.

After my shop opened, I started my blog Abbi Kirsten Collections, my parent brand, which unexpectedly blossomed into one of the most popular craft blogs on the internet!

How It All Began

Abbi Kirsten Collections had an unexpected start back in 2015 after Abbi’s personal projects went viral. Abbi’s creative journey began as a means of overcoming depression and anxiety. Along the way, Abbi Kirsten Collections has become a light to many with the same struggles.

Since then, the blog has blossomed into one of the most popular craft sites on the web. With no shortage of colorful crafts and creative ideas to spark inspiration, readers return again and again.

After more than a decade of professional crafting, Abbi is an example to her kids and anyone who needs inspiration of what can happen when you channel struggles into creativity.

Abbi spends every day making messes and making magic in her home studio to make the world a more colorful place, one craft at a time, by sharing her Cricut tutorials, papercraft projects, and handmade gifts.

Whether a beginner or a lifelong crafting pro, Abbi is passionate about nurturing the creative magic inside everyone!

My small business has launched into a career, and I have been honored to work with many well-known companies like Michaels Craft Store, Cricut, HGTV, Bridal magazine, Create Room, and many others!
As far back as I can remember, I have enjoyed crafting.
Believe it or not, my talents haven’t always come easy to me. Rather hard work continually forces me to discover creativity within myself, which I never knew existed. When I am not crafting rainbows of color in my studio, you can find me designing new crafts and printables on my couch while cuddling with my two kids, my husband, and my two dogs.

My bucket of creative ideas is always overflowing, and spreading the joy of crafting is truly why I love what I do! In addition to my love (ahem..obsession) for colorful crafting, I have a passion for helping other creative dreamers launch their own businesses and achieve lasting success!

I’m a 31-year-old mother to two babies who aren’t quite babies anymore! Wyatt (9) and Christabella (8) – are just 14 barely months apart! Certainly not planned, but it was an unexpected blessing from God in hindsight. 👧👦

I can only eat M&Ms in order of the color of the rainbow. 🌈

I love to watch reruns of Friends and Golden Girls while snuggling with my two fur babies, Macy (my Golden Retriever) and Liberty, my noisy, snoring French bulldog. 🐶

I have Celiac’s disease, which means I cannot have anything with gluten (wheat). I have to buy gluten-free things like bread, crackers, pasta, etc. 🍞

Anything reptile, but especially snakes and frogs – you never know how far the frog will jump! 🐸

I love what I do and in my spare time (…. what’s that??) I play with my kiddos, enjoy baking, and hanging out by the pool. ⛱️
