I can’t wait to share this papercraft tutorial with you today for making an explosion gift box. Creating a handmade gift always shows your recipient how much you care. And around here, we do things in vibrant colors, so I made the explosion gift box into a stacking rainbow of color!

The explosion gift box can be made easily using a cutting machine or just a pair of scissors. The templates for this gift box are my free gift to you and are linked below. Both PDF printables and SVG cut files are included.

This sweet craft includes plenty of “surprise” pockets for inserting photos, notes, or stickers as well as the little gift boxes for adding other small items. To make your gift box unique to you, choose a variety of your favorite cardstock colors or scrapbooking paper to really let your style pop.

  1. I didn’t see where you told how many pieces of cardstock you need for this. Guess I’ll have to upload to cricket and count the pages?

    1. That’s going to depend if you use my size of box or resize. I used 12 x 12 cardstock and about 17 sheets.

    You mentioned in the video about a free template included in the files for the flower on the top, but when looking at the files, I do not see where the files is located. The link provided to flowers takes me to Etsy, and there is a charge for the flower template. Am I looking in the wrong place for the free file? Thank you!

    Sorry, One more question. Towards the end of the video, you show the cut outs for the sentiments to be put into. You mentioned that there are score lines, however, I don’t see score lines on the ones included, nor do I see the little side tabs like yours that are folded in and glued. The ones included seem to be just the same size as the box fold outs and not sure how they would work with this design. Thank you
