DIY Graduation Cap Gift Box
I’ve recently fallen in love with Cricut Party Foil and decided to create the cap’s tassel with a touch of sparkle. You can create these gift boxes in an array of colors, which of course, I had to demonstrate both a traditional black graduation cap and some playful hues as well.

Below are the supplies you will need/want to create your own graduation cap gift boxes.
Supplies
- Cardstock paper
- Party foil by Cricut
- Gold Brads
- Tombow scrapbooking tape
- Hot glue gun
- Embroidery thread
- Cricut Maker/Cricut Explore or Printer
- Scoring wheel or scoring stylus if using a Cricut machine
- Grad cap box templates – I’m sharing these templates in SVG and PDF format for free with my community. Find these free templates by signing up via the form below.

As I said, you can cut the grad cap boxes with scissors or your Cricut machine. If you use your Cricut machine, then be sure to use either the scoring wheel or the scoring stylus, so your folds are precise.

These are so fun! Thanks for the free download – I am using them for my kindergarten’s graduation party.
Could you please tell me what the dimensions are for the graduation hats? Thank you! You can email me.
My grad hats ended up being about 4-4.5 inches once made. The SVG download will load them at that size. 🙂
I had printed out the templates on my computer for the graduation boxes and they are not the 4 inch size. I have also tried to get back into your site and it keeps wanting me to put my password in again and again. Could you email me the link so I can print the patterns off again. Like I said, they don’t print off at 4 inches. Thank you!
Hi I am new to all this. I just signed up as a member and was wondering how to get the graduation hat box template as I can’t seem to find it. May I please ask for help. Thank you.
Kind regards
Kemy

Is there any way to make this a bigger size, (big enough to hold cards, ie. a card box)?
Yes, you can scale them larger in Design Space. If you want them to be super big you may need to opt for a 12 x 12 inch mat. 🙂
that’s amazing
